David Beckam is over-rated

David Beckham is the most over-rated player in all of sports. Everyone thought he was good simply because he could "bend" his shots and because he played for Manchester United. Although some people may say he's passed his prime now, he's as good as he ever was. He plays for LA Galaxy, the "best" team in the American MLS (Major League Soccer), which lost to our own Vancouver Whitecaps (who are joining the MLS next year, finally). It's not that Beckham isn't a good player, I would even say he is above average, but he's not the greatest player in soccer, just one of the highest paid, but he rarely lives up to his over exaggerated reputation. He has been runner-up for FIFA World Player of the Year twice and has never won, rightfully so.

The Perils of Indifference

1. The Hazards of Not Caring.

2. The Lottery can be connected to the short story Eli. It is related because Dr. Fitzgerald at first appeared to be normal, but later showed some less than reputable qualities. What is surprising in both cases, is how the characters think there is nothing wrong with what they are doing; they believe they are perfectly normal and reasonable.

3. Elie Wiesel's speech relates to the townspeople in "The Lottery". In "The Lottery" the town felt nothing was wrong with what they did, and they did not care about the results of their actions. They believed they were in the right and did not need to help others who were less fortunate.

Ignorance is Bliss

Can you honestly admit to feeling better once you know a problem exists? No. Do you do something about it? Probably not. As an individual person you wish to live without complications, ignoring them if you must, to maintain an euphoric lifestyle. As a society however, this is not an option, we must learn to face our problems to continue to survive on this planet.

A Story About A Girl: New Ending

As Linda kisses Michael, she realizes Greg is still waiting. She explains to Michael she owes Greg an explanation, and he understands. As Linda readies to leave, she finds herself unable to turn away from Michael, until she discovered her shoelace was caught on a branch. Simply because of a yearning for drama, she wished to slowly back away until Michael's image disappeared into the foliage surrounding the meadow. Unfortunately, she ruined it by tripping and falling into poison ivy. She then quickened her pace, wishing to begin her new life with Michael as soon as possible; unless Greg had bought her something pretty, in which case she would require further persuasion to leave him.

Linda arrived at Greg's residence to find police on scene. She was informed Greg was brutally defeated at Mortal Combat causing a series of seizures which lead to his death from his cat attacking him, thinking he was a predator. Greg's body was mangled beyond recognition, and Linda could only identify him by his custom game controller clutched in his hands. Linda immediately returned to Michael, and they lived out their lives happily. Greg's cat mysteriously turned up in a ditch shortly after his murder, and his spirit was laid to rest.

What to blog about?

I believe blogging is an excellent way for our class to express our feelings on important topics and it allows us to read each others opinions and reply to them accordingly. We should blog about fun topics as well as some important topics highlighted in the media. "Open forums" are good ways for us to present interesting topics to others and should be included in our blog topics. For marking blogs, we should be able to choose our best "x" number of blogs to be marked.

Superpower

If I could have any superpower, it would be the ability to steal everyone else's superpowers, assuming other people had them. If nobody else had superpowers, I would choose to control time. Although many other superpowers would be cool, freezing and reversing time renders other powers useless. For instance, why have invisibility when you can simply freeze time and sneak around without anyone knowing. I would only choose this power however, if I did not age during the moments I freeze time.
